Beyti is a popular Turkish dish that
consists of ground beef or lamb, seasoned with various spices and grilled on skewers.
Here's a recipe for beyti dinner:
Ingredients:
500g ground beef or lamb
1 onion, grated
1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp black pepper
Salt, to taste
6-8 long, thin skewers (if using
wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes before using)
Lavash or pita bread, for serving
Yogurt sauce:
1 cup plain yogurt
1 garlic clove, minced
Salt, to taste
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, grated onion, chopped parsley, minced garlic, paprika, cumin, black pepper, and salt. Mix everything together until well combined.
Divide the meat mixture into 6-8 equal portions and shape them into long, thin sausages around the skewers.
Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Grill the beyti skewers for about 8-10 minutes, turning them occasionally, until they are cooked through and charred on all sides.
While the skewers are grilling, make the yogurt sauce by mixing together the yogurt, minced garlic, and salt in a small bowl.
Serve the beyti skewers hot, with lavash or pita bread and the yogurt sauce on the side. You can also add some chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions as a refreshing side salad. Enjoy!
